To All Struggling

Hello to people struggling with addiction,

After ten years of watching our son struggle with alcohol and drug abuse he made the decision to use both along with drinking rubbing alcohol. He lost one kidney to cancer about five years ago and has one kidney left. Needless to say, with all of those toxic chemicals in his body he went into kidney failure. He was in the hospital for three days and by the grace of God his kidney started to function again.

He was so sick and we knew he needed help. I found Watershed online and he was admitted the next day. The first week was a little hard on him but he stayed with the program for about seven weeks. During admission, he said 30 days and no more. Well I was so glad he gave himself more time with therapy and support meetings.

Today was a day I haven’t seen in a long time. He called and asked his dad to go fishing with him. This was their favorite thing to do before alcohol and drugs consumed his life. I want to thank Watershed for giving us our son back. I know we must go one day at a time.

Thanks to the doctors, nurses, therapists and alumni for great support and caring.

Thankful Mom,

Pauline.
