My experience at The Watershed was very memorable one. Days before I got on the plane to start a new chapter of my life I was lost and very nervous but excited to start my journey. Whenever I arrived to Boynton I had no clue what to expect or what I was getting myself into. I was mainly just excited about the warm, sunny South Florida weather considering it was 30 degrees in West Virginia. Whenever I boarded the plane, I had never been “in recovery” before and didn’t even really know what that meant. At first I was treating my journey like a vacation. I thought a change of scenery and new surroundings and friends would keep me clean and sober. Little did I know, you actually have to put in time and hard work to maintain your sobriety. After a relapse and going back through Boynton I realized this and was more determined and motivated to get it right this time. I got a sponsor and actually contacted her daily and began working the steps with her. Now, I am on my 7th step and couldn’t be happier with the way my life is. The Watershed didn’t keep me clean but they did teach me the tools and way to become a better person considering I was a clueless, helpless girl whenever I stepped foot into the Boynton lobby. I owe a huge thank you to The Shed for saving my life!
